* Official Wii Messenger Bag

* Wii Classic Controller with controller skin of your choice

I have checked other online stores and many are out of the Wii Systems including WalMart which I checked this morning and they do not have any in stock at this time. Nintendo seems to be manufacturing the Wii at a much slower rate than the market is demanding. Even though the price is $199 many online stores are charging a higher price. Even some used Wii systems are going for a higher price than the one hundred ninety nine that was the going rate for a short while.

Keep checking back with Nintendi Wii Cost where we review everthing wii. Subscribe to our feed or leave a comment requesting to be notified when VPGames receives their next shipment of Wii systems.

Nintendo Wii Helps Depression – Top 10 Ways to Fight it

As Featured On EzineArticles
nintendo_wii_system_wii_sports
Can the movement from a simple video game, especially the movements involved in the Nintendo Wii help you fight off depression? All exercise activities associated with the Wii that I have participated in or witnessed point to yes. Why not, after all one of the worst things you can do, if you are down in the dumps, is to lay around anchoring your couch to the floor and sinking deeper into the quagmire called depression.

The holiday season can be especially tough on people with memories of good times gone by. Or the stress of relatives that seem put additional pressure on you.

Coming from a person that has suffered from depression and beat it, there are certain things that one can do on a daily basis to really help keep depression at bay. I have interviewed several others that have suffered from depression and beat it as well. These are 10 things that I incorporate into my daily, and definitely weekly routine, in order to keep me working, playing, living and in general, having fun (with optimal mental performance) in everything that I do.

Top 10 Things to Fight Depression

1. Exercise - You have to get up, get out of bed, stop sleeping all day and sitting up watching crap on the TV at night. It really makes a huge difference getting that cardiovascular workout every day. Yes, every day! I don’t mean kill yourself sweating and huffing and puffing. Just get about 30 minutes of walking, jogging, biking, or whatever exercise that you enjoy. Try to get your heart rate up to 70% of the maximum. This means breathing hard enough that it is difficult but you can still have a conversation while exercising.
2. Fresh Air - As long as you are exercising, do it outside if you can, or at least open some windows in the house to let the fresh air in. Take a trip to the beach or the park and the smell of the ocean or pines will elevate you mood just by being there.
3. Sunshine - Sunshine warms the body and the soul. It also helps your body to produce Vitamin D naturally. This is another great reason to exercise outside. Now you are getting your cardiovascular exercise, your fresh air, and sunshine all in one!
4. Water - Both before and after exercising make sure you drink plenty of good water. Dr. Mercola recommends that you drink enough water to turn your urine a light yellow. He originally recommended about 8 glasses of water per day but has mad some adjustments and gotten a lot more detailed. So start there and don’t let yourself get thirsty. Be careful of the tap water as it could have excessive amounts of chlorine and fluoride. Buy a filter or drink bottled water. Also put a filter on the shower water to eliminate the toxins there as well.
5. Food - As a society we eat way too much meat and processed foods. This made a huge difference in my energy levels when I incorporated more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I try to eat 80% raw fruits and vegetables during my daily food intake, with 10% of the 80% being fruits. The remaining 20% can be cooked vegetables and a little bit of meat if you like. Try to limit the amount of meat to no more than the size palm of your hand. I am a big meat eater so I struggle with this a little but when I stick to eating lots of veggies I feel really awesome. Just start off with small changes. Add a fresh salad in here and there and the next thing you know you are up to 50% fruits and veggies and well on your way. If you don’t feel like eating a salad, get up and make one anyway. The process of making the salad makes you want to eat one. Put in the things you like and leave out the veggies that you don’t.
6. Work from a List - The depression really made me not want to do anything and when I did I was all over the place. Making a list is a great way to keep track and also keep you on task giving you a sense of accomplishment. Make the list the night before the following days activities. Then work from that list looking at it every hour checking off the items as you complete them. Then before you go to bed revise the list crossing remaining items off that you have accomplished and adding new things for tomorrow. You will be amazed at how much you can get done this way.
7. Reading - There is something about reading that gives you a sense of accomplishment as well. You keep turning page after page, chapter after chapter, and soon you have read an entire book. Reading makes me feel better and stimulates my brain. Especially the self help books. A great book that really helped me out was “Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting” by Lynn Grabhorn.
8. Laughter - I learned this little technique from Ed Foreman. He wanted you to laugh for 1 minute every day. This means just start laughing, whether you are at home, or in your car, just start laughing. It starts with a giggle, then a chuckle, then a little laugh, followed by a larger laugh, and before you know if you are engaged in some belly shaking, gas passing laughter. Before you know it you are actually laughing, feeling better and even a little out of breath. If you have to watch TV then watch something funny that is guaranteed to make you laugh. I fell into a cycle of watching the news and feeding my depression on the misery and misfortune of others. I was addicted to the news and had to watch it every night. Do not watch the news and do whatever it takes to break this habit. Instead find a short funny sitcom.
9. Alcohol - This is an absolute no! Alcohol is a depressant and will sink you very quickly. I found that if I had even a few beers I would not want to do anything for 3 or 4 days afterward. If you are at a party then get a glass of water with a lime or lemon. It helps pacify me just by holding something cold in my hand.
10. Seek Help - You are not alone in this. Many people have gone through this before you. Seek help in family, friends, and even professional help. A couple of tips and pointers and even a friendly hug can make all the difference in the world.

Back to the fun and benefits of the Nintendo

The Nintendi Wii system costs about $199. They even have a out game out called Fit. This comes with a balance board and costs about $99. This can help you get into an exercise routine with flexibility and strength training including Yoga, a Body Mass Index Calculator, and even a calorie counter. There was even a game I came across where you had to fly. So here I am flapping my wings madly, flying around in this video game and laughing hysterically. I’m not sure who had more fun or laughed more, me or the friends watching me. But hey, I achieved my exercise and laughter goals for the day.

It doesn’t matter where you start or what you play, but start exercising somewhere and get the ball rolling. Once you get going you won’t want to stop and you will be well on your way to kicking depression to the curb and having fun in the process.
